Anne Maree Court Northcote Auckland
Bed state: 56 beds.
Maree Court believes that the residents are part
of a much larger family, so families and friends
are kept fully engaged in their care. Families are welcome to
stay and enjoy a meal with us.
It is management policy to be very flexible in how services are delivered and aim to anticipate needs before they arise. In this way, we cater for residents' needs on an individual basis. Our service offers solutions to those situations that may be considered 'tricky'. Anne Maree Court has an ‘open door’ policy with regard to residents and staff.
The care and welfare of each resident is reviewed by the Registered Nurse.
attends the clinic once a week with a Registered Nurse.
This standard health check includes a nail check where natural
remedies are used and a foot spa offers a bit of pampering.
The building is 'tucked away' in a suburban street and was built initially as a facility for those with intellectual disabilities. The donut shaped building surrounds central courtyard areas. Individualised rooms have easy indoor-outdoor flow and are linked to the continuous corridor. Alternative access and egress can be made via the covered walkway dissecting the central courtyard.
The activity programme plays a central role in the daily life of the home.
The activity programme is lively and often involves everyone's participation. There are quizzes and games and regular visits from entertainers. Our residents love to dance.. We believe that unsettled residents are either bored, lonely, need attention, hungry or need the toilet. Address these things and usually the problem is solved. We restrict the use of heavy medication wherever possible.
